This policy describes how the Modh Vanik Samaj mobile application ("the App"), operated by the Modh Vanik Samaj ("the Samaj", "we"), collects, uses and protects the personal data of its member families. The App is available to members of families on the Samaj register; there is no public sign-up.
What we collect
The App stores and processes the membership information you or the Samaj provide:
- Identity: name, gender, date of birth, marital status and anniversary, education and occupation, photograph.
- Family: which family you belong to, your relation to its head, and the links between family members (spouse, father, mother).
- Contact: mobile number, email address, postal address and place of residence.
- Membership: the family's membership number, type, status, fees paid and receipts.
- Device: a push-notification token for the device you sign in on.
How we use it
- Membership services — maintaining your family's membership record and letting you view and correct it.
- Sign-in — a one-time code is sent to your registered mobile number each time you sign in.
- Member directory — other members can see the details you and your family choose to list. You can hide your own entry from the App at any time.
- Communication — announcements, greetings, event invitations and membership reminders by push notification, WhatsApp, SMS or email.
- Payments — membership fees are collected through Razorpay; the Samaj never sees your card or bank details.
Sharing
Your data is not sold or shared with anyone outside the Samaj, except with the service providers that deliver the above (payment gateway, messaging and push-notification providers, cloud hosting), each bound to use it only for that purpose.
Retention and your rights
Your data is retained while your family remains on the Samaj register. You may correct your details in the App, hide your entry from the directory, or ask the Samaj office to delete your App account — see the account deletion page.
